Chemical, Pharma, Industrial Machinery, Electrical & electronics, Automotive, and Textile & apparel are the six sectors that drive India’s manufacturing industry. With a capacity to export goods worth US$1 trillion by 2030, India will be a major global manufacturing hub leaving behind major economies. The manufacturing industry alone contributes to 16-17% of the GDP and gives employment to around 2.72 crore individuals. Besides MNCs and local businesses, programs like “Make in India” are creating a large number of job opportunities for skilled individuals.

At an entry level, one can work as a Designer, Food technologist, Supply Chain and Logistics Manager, General Worker, etc. And, with the recent developments in mechanization, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI), new roles and opportunities are also being created simultaneously.
